Recap - TRAK Race 1

After a quick engine prep session and rookie spring training the weekend before, we were set loose on the track for our first race laps. We weren't quite prepared for how fast the groups would be called out, so we missed out on our first opportunity for a practice session.

Ooops! We won't make that mistake again!

Luckily our sponsor and racing coach Drew from Falcon Autosport was on-hand to give support and encouragement, and we rallied for qualifying. Getting used to higher speeds and tighter formation on the track takes some getting used to, but we'll get there. Drew noticed some changes on my seating position that will help, so we'll keep tweaking that until it's just right.

I ended up close to the back of the pack, but I feel positive because I know it takes time to adapt to new things and practice makes progress. As it was, my fastest lap times came down by four seconds from the beginning to the end of the day - on the very first day on track!
