After a few weekends where luck just wasn't on my side, it felt really good to finally have a positive result. But before race day, we still had a problem to solve: What was going on with my engine?
That's when you realize how important it is to have good people around you.
Briggs and Stratton racing engines
As with all things engine-related, the first person we called was Eli Yanko. Luckily, he was also racing at Mosport that weekend, so he took the engine with him to have a look.
Once it was back, I needed some practice laps before race day to make sure everything was working properly. A huge thank you to my teammate Tyson's parents for helping me get on the track on Friday ❤️

The engine was definitely better, but still not quite right.
My mechanic, Elijah, determined the clutch springs were probably loose. After replacing them and a quick call to Yanko to confirm the correct settings, we were (literally 😂) off to the races.
Chasing a milestone
This was the first time this season racing Goodwood's reverse layout with the bus stop chicane. I struggled with it at first, but Elijah gave me some pointers and I found a good rhythm for the race.
Crossing the finish line in P10 is an unforgettable moment - it's my first-ever Top 10 finish in a club race! It feels amazing to see all the practice and effort paying off. Plus, it was my birthday this week and I got to celebrate with cupcakes in the paddock. It was just a great weekend overall 😊
Preparing for the next race
I'm super proud of this result, but now it's time to put my head down and get ready for Round 2 of the Interclub Challenge at Mosport.
Last time, I left that track feeling frustrated. This time, I'm heading back feeling ready💪
A big thank you to Team UltraKart and my sponsors: TDot Wraps, Glasslake Funding, NGD Services, Durham Wealth Planning Group and Clarke Engineering. Your support gives me the opportunity to keep learning, improving, and chasing my goals one race at a time❤️
