The Ontario Inter-Club Challenge brings together drivers from Goodwood, Mosport and Hamilton. Round 2 was held at Mosport Karting Centre.

After my first trip to Mosport a couple of weeks earlier, I couldn't wait to come back.

I'd spent more than 100 laps practicing in the simulator in the week leading up to the race, so this time I wasn't just learning the track. I was trying to put all that practice together and find those last few tenths.

Saturday: Building confidence

Saturday's practice sessions went really well.

Every time I went out, I felt a little more comfortable with the track. Once I found my rhythm, the lap times became much more consistent, and I spent less time searching for speed and more time refining my driving.

By the end of the day I felt ready to race.

Sunday: A strong start

Sunday started off great too.

I qualified P18 in a field of 25 drivers, then moved up to P13 in Qualification Heat 1. That was really encouraging because it put me right where I wanted to be: in the middle of the action.

And that's when things went sideways 😮‍💨

Mechanical setbacks

In Qualification Heat 2, my spark plug cap came loose so I only completed one lap.

Then, in the Super Heat, another engine issue meant reduced power for most of the race.

Because of those two problems, I started the final race all the way at the back.

It would have been easy to get frustrated, but I decided to treat it as a challenge: make up as much ground as possible.

Six passes and a reminder

Starting at the back meant the only way was up!

Lap by lap, I made six clean passes, including my first-ever double overtake in competition.

This is the drive I'm most proud of this season so far. A few months ago, a weekend like this probably would have made me want to give up on the race. Instead, I kept my head down, trusted what I'd learned through practice and in the sim, and kept going.

I'm starting to realize that becoming a better driver isn't just about going faster. It's about staying focused, adapting when things go wrong, and making the most of it.

Now I'm going to keep building 💪

A big thank you to Team UltraKart and my sponsors: TDot Wraps, Glasslake Funding, NGD Services, Durham Wealth Planning Group and Clarke Engineering. Your support gives me the opportunity to keep learning, racing, and chasing my goals every weekend. ❤️
